Real Life Results: January

How Belief Coding Helped Liz Find Freedom from Alcohol

To give you a real sense of the kinds of life challenges Belief Coding can help with, I want to share Liz’s story.

Liz had been drinking most days for nearly 25 years.

What began as a weekend social habit with friends gradually became an everyday ritual. A bottle of wine would be opened at 6pm after work, and quite often another half bottle would follow “just to top up” before bed. Many nights ended with Liz waking in the early hours, promising herself “never again” — only for 6pm to roll around the next day and that familiar wee voice to appear, convincing her she deserved a drink to relax after a hard day.

When the Body Speaks

The turning point came when a routine blood test led to a call from her GP. Certain lifestyle choices were questioned, and Liz was told that her liver was “not quite coping as it once had.”

She knew then that she couldn’t keep putting her head in the sand.

Using willpower alone, Liz could manage three or four days without drinking — but in her own words, it felt like she’d lost a good mate. The inner tug-of-war was relentless. The cycle of drinking, stopping briefly, and berating herself continued for several more years.

The Hidden Programme Running the Show

Through Belief Coding, we uncovered the old subconscious programme that had been quietly — and sometimes not so quietly — running in the background:

• Wine was her friend

• Wine helped her chill out

• Wine brought laughter and relief

• Wine gave her respite from a hard day

Until this programme was located, dissolved, and rewritten, Liz was effectively trapped in her own mind — or rather, two minds.

Her conscious mind desperately wanted to stop drinking.

Her subconscious mind kept reassuring her: “It’s all cool. Have a drink.”

And as long as those two minds were in conflict, lasting change felt impossible.

Real Freedom, Not a Daily Battle

On the 1st of January this year, Liz celebrated something she once couldn’t imagine — one full year sober.

In her words, she shared that she has never felt so free:

“It’s not a battle every day. That endless chatter — shall I have a drink tonight? Maybe just a couple? — it was exhausting. I don’t have that mental fight with myself anymore because I literally just do not want to put alcohol in my body. Without that constant temptation, I’m properly free.”

And this is the difference Belief Coding can make.

It’s not about forcing change through willpower.

It’s about gently and safely updating the subconscious beliefs that no longer serve you — so change becomes natural, calm, and sustainable.
